“The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave it neither power nor time.”
-Mary Oliver, from “Of Power and Time”
What stories do you tell yourself that keep you from stepping into your own creative power?
In her book, The Enchanted Life, Sharon Blackie writes about the power of story: “it breathes life into our thoughts and dreams; it illuminates who we are, and it shows us how we might possibly play our own unique part in the ongoing becoming of the world.”
As a creativity coach, I am interested in your stories. Using curiosity as a guide, we will look at the stories you tell yourself that keep you from stepping into your creative power, and we will also discover the stories that excite your creative impulses. How might you use stories—myths and narratives, both personal and collective—to rekindle your connection to creative process?
During our sessions, we will use a wide range of practical and intuitive tools that support your creative practice and provide accountability, so you can prioritize projects and set specific goals. Together, we will establish a holistic coaching relationship that offers you the support and resources you need to move through blocks, build confidence, re-imagine the stories you tell yourself, and build connections to a larger creative community.
Just like the seasons, creativity works in cycles. We have winters of rest and reflection, springs full of new ideas, summers where projects fruit and mature, and falls where we gather the harvest and prepare for the fallow times of winter. Creativity coaching also works in cycles. I offer a three month cycle and a six month cycle. At the end of a cycle, we will decide whether or not our work is complete or if another cycle would support your creative growth.
SESSIONS: We will meet twice a month for 90 minutes, either in person or over Zoom. In between sessions, you can email or text Sarah for support and guidance. You may also schedule one, half-hour, phone call a month.
COST: Three monthly installments of $450, or $1,300 paid in full before your first session (by paying in full, you receive $50 off the cost of the coaching cycle). If you choose to pay in installments, the first payment is due before your first session, and all other payments are due by the fifth of each following month.

Weaving the Net: Weaving the Net is an Olympia, WA based creative coaching community designed for people looking to establish or recommit to a creative practice. If you are knee-deep in a project and need some support, if you are looking to return to your craft after a hiatus, or if you have the beginning seeds of an idea and are seeking fertile ground, this group is designed to serve you.
We will meet weekly to:
Set individual goals and create flexible accountability within community
Explore both inspiration and blocks: what helps and what gets in the way?
Generate new material with the help of creative prompts
Facilitation of these meetings will be flexible and responsive, designed to meet the specific needs of the group’s members and support whatever challenges arise on the way to our goals. The focus of the group is to generate work and discuss process; this is not a critique group.
Cost (Monthly): $125 full price; $90 for students and low income individuals. Pay-what-you-can spots are available for people from underrepresented groups; our registration form provides a space to indicate if you’re interested in this option.
